Algorithmic Patient Management Competition (APMC)

The "Encyclomedics Team" is delighted to present the Algorithmic Patient Management Competition (APMC).

It is founded and developed by the "Encyclomedics Team" in collaboration with several clinicians.

The Algorithmic Patient Management Competition is a unique, biannual online competition designed for medical students to simulate a real patient scenario with multiple choice questions.

The basis of this idea comes from the new algorithmic approach to patient management (Encyclomedics). In the current algorithmic approaches to patient management, different factors are considered and based on these factors, several paths are presented. All these paths are correct ways to manage that patient based on those specified factors. However, what happens if a mistake occurs.

Almost none of the current algorithms discuss about it. But in real scenario, many mistakes may and actually happen easily during the patient management if the physician does not consider different factors.

We designed this multiple-choice question competition with branching, not linear, questions.

In each question, there are several answers and based on your choice, the next question that appears for you, is different from other choices, so you enter a specific path for patient approach or management.

If your choice is correct, your path is the correct one and at the end, your patient will be managed correctly. But, if you have selected a wrong choice, the path will end up with a complication relevant to your choice. This happens for each question.

The Next Algorithmic Patient Management Competition Will Be Held In October 2022.
